The French Toast Revolution

Yes, french toast is what led to the creation of this blog – eggy bread, egg toast or pain perdu as the French call it. It literally means ‘lost bread’ as french toast is something that’s often made with stale bread. However, very few actually know that french toast wasn’t created by the French, but in fact the Romans in the 4th Century which later spread to the rest of Europe in the Middle Ages making it popular in France.
Why France? Because the French are notorious for not adding any preservatives in their bread, therefore also resulting in far too much stale bread in the household.
What’s so special about my french toast you ask?
It has the exact same things, milk & eggs, but added to it are garlic & onion powder, hint of dried red chili if you have any and lots of salt and pepper. The result is what you see above.
